Stone Hill Studios was founded this year by Artist Lori A. Tiller, but the studio's foundation was established years ago ~  "An artistic alternative to studio portraiture." Lori doesn't believe in cookie-cutter, generic, in-studio portraits where one size fits all. Instead, she focuses on clean, natural, true photography, natural setting, natural light, with amazing, brilliant results. Stone Hill Studios is the only alternative to traditional portrait studios that most of us are familiar with. Stone Hill Studios is the direct counterpart to expensive high end or portrait studios located in a generic "X-Mart" setting.

Lori is a lifelong resident of Allegany/Cattaraugus county. She acquired her Art degree from the esteemed Alfred University, and has been a professional photographer ever since. Her vision is unique and styled, and her credentials include numerous gallery showings, commissioned works, and many praised accomplishments through various photographic mediums. Lori is also an Arts Council board member, actively involved in organizing and participating in many community events, a proud Alpaca farmer, and a prouder mother of a beautiful daughter.

My core philosophy lies in this statement alone... "Art is subjective." Those three words sum up the art world in it's entirety. What one person admires another feels utter disgust. I also believe that fine art, if done correctly, should evoke an emotion or reaction from it's viewer. As long as something, anything happens within the observer then some degree of success has been accomplished. I also believe that art is a fundamental "need" inborn in some individuals and should be nurtured through education beginning at a very early age. Fine art (and music) is as equally important as mathematics, science and English in the development of well rounded, intelligent children.

Stone Hill Studios is named after Stone Hill, a parcel of land located in the heart of Allegany County owned first by Lori's grandfather Fred Bennett and eventually her Father David R. Bennett. This studio was founded not only on artistic principle, but also the hope, warmth and wonder these two men offered and freely gave.
